Sara J. Slayman passed away in Sarasota on March 5, 2006 she was 82 years old. Born in Hillsboro, OH on March 28, 1923; she received her Masters from Miami University in Ohio. A life long educator, she was a Counselor at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Hills, IL for over thirty years. She resided in Palos Park, IL before moving to Nokomis upon retiring in 1987. She was Assistant Director of the National Institute for Continuing Education and was a member of the Kings Gate Club. Mrs. Slayman enjoyed frequent travel and was a Methodist. She is survived by her husband Herman of 57 years; two sons, Timothy Slayman of Joliet, IL and Terry Slayman of Delaware, OH and her one grandchild. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Yellowstone Park Foundation, 222 East Main St., Bozeman, MT 59715. Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge.
