William “Bill” Dean Abbott, Sr., age 74, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on February 1, 2022. He was born on February 6, 1947 in Marion, Indiana and moved to Florida in 1974. Bill was a veteran of the US Army and was a truck driver for many years. He loved NASCAR, fantasy football and spending time with family. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Rodger) Cline of Sarasota, Stephanie (David Rotterberk, Jr.) Miller of Venice; a son, William Dean (Stephanie) Abbott, Jr; grandsons, Maxwell Cline, Tyler Cline, Cody Miller, Caleb Sutherlin, Caden Abbott, Connor Abbott, Cooper Rottenberk; granddaughters, Brianna Cline, Brooklyn Cline, Serena Sutherlin, Sera Abbott and Kennedy Rottenberk. Bill also leaves behind nephew, Robert E. “Rob” (Mary) Abbott and nieces, Missy (Dean) Herrington Hill, Lisa (Randy) Davis, Annie (Brandon) Downan along with other nephews and nieces and great nephews & nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. “Bob” Abbott, Sr., Marcedus “Cedie” Abbott; a brother, Robert “Bobby” E. Abbott, Jr. and his wife, Sharon Abbott. A visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home in Venice on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11:00AM-1:00PM and a service with military honors will follow at 2:00PM at Sarasota National VA Cemetery.
