February 5th, 1940 - May 18th, 2022
Tracy Lee Haines, age 82, of Englewood, Florida and formerly of Bowie and Mt. Rainier, Maryland passed away on May 18, 2022. He is survived by his three children, Ronald (Meseret), Laura (Christopher), and Jeffrey (Julie), and his eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear lifelong friend, Marie and a special niece, Diana. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Elizabeth “Betty” Haines, nee Adams, his parents Ruby and Willis, and his sister Donna. Tracy graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany for most of his service. Tracy continued the family tradition and operated his own car business in Cottage City, Maryland for several decades. Later in life he enjoyed his past-time and love for music and became a DJ for several restaurants in the Hyattsville area. After moving to Florida, Tracy worked for NAPA and G4S where he made many dear friends. He was an avid reader and lover of history, particularly of the WWII era. He was known and loved for his old school charm, his contagious smile, quick wit, and generosity. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is in charge of his cremation services. A private interment and memorial ceremony for Tracy will follow at a later date.
