Robert R. Kelley
July 9th, 1947 - March 16th, 2024
Robert Ray Kelley III, known affectionally as ‘Jack’, passed away on March 16, 2024, in Venice, Florida. Born on July 9, 1947, to Charlotte Horn and Robert Kelley Jr, lived in Lafayette, Indiana much of his life before moving to Florida in 2013. Jack is survived by his loving wife Vicki (Bernacchi) Kelley, sister Helen Davis (Dennis), brother Mike Kelley (Cathy), daughter Kristi Gaeta (Juan), son Mark Crum (Melody Pickering) and daughter-in-law Kelly Kelley. He also leaves behind eight wonderful grandchildren Jordan, Jacob and Noah Gaeta, Zane and Miles Crum, Madison, Mallory and Myah Kelley along with many loyal friends and extended family members. Jack graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1965. He continued his education to become a Plumber-Pipefitter and was affiliated with the Plumber and Steam Fitters Local 157. He served as a Field Representative before retiring in 2005. Jack was trusted and well-respected member in the trade and the community. He was awarded Lafayette’s top award, the Marquis de Lafayette for his commitment and dedication to the citizens of Lafayette. Jack also received the Solidarity Award by the Northwest Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and was often recognized for his fundraising and volunteerism efforts for the United Way. Jack will long be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He loved the game of golf and left his family and friends with a lot of great golfing memories over the years. He was a lifelong Purdue and Indianapolis Colts fan. He will always be remembered as a soft spoken, strong, hard-working, kind and caring person. Everyone that met Jack loved him and his infectious smile. He will be forever missed. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kasey Kelley, mother Charlotte (Horn) Kelley and father Robert ‘Bud’ Kelley Jr. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Jack to The Parkinson’s Foundation https://www.apdaparkinson.org A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 4th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Walt’s Other Pub on South 9th St. in Lafayette, Indiana.
