Celebrating The Life Of William "Bill" Stark
William Frank “Bill” Stark, 92, of Forest, VA, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Oakwood Health & Rehab in Bedford, VA. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Ann Sutphin Stark.
Born April 11, 1932, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Quentin Frank and Edith Poff Emmons Stark. He retired as executive vice-president after 34 years from VA Credit Union League. He was a longtime member of Timberlake Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He was a 32nd degree Mason with Hill City #0183 Lodge. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.
He is survived by one daughter, Tamara S. Harmon of Forest; a daughter-in-law, Karen Stark (William F. Jr deceased) of Pace, Fl; two grandchildren, Timothy William Stark (Isabel) and Sarah Johanna Martin (Durrell) and one great grandchild, Vienna Stark; a nephew, A.L. Stark, Jr. (Susan) of Norfolk, VA.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, from Noon to 1:00 PM at Timberlake Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Alley officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Donations to American Heart Association, American Cancer Association or Good Samaritan Hospice.
