Marguerite Swartz Williams, 86, of Forest, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Charles Thomas Williams of 64 years. Born August 3, 1931 in Rockbridge County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Harry Alexander and Ora Pamelia Miller Swartz. She was the Valedictorian graduate of Natural Bridge High School in 1950 and later a graduate of Phillips Business College. She was a secretary for 45 years with Edmunds-Williams Law Firm. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church in Goode. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by two sons, Albert “Al” Alexander Williams and his wife, Sonya, Arthur “Art” Thomas Williams and his wife, Amy, all of Forest; three grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Ryan Williams and Brittney Williams, all of Forest. She was preceded in death by one infant child at birth; one brother, Harry Swartz, Jr and one sister, Dorothy Arndt. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakland United Methodist Church (Goode, VA) with Pastor Kent Wise officiating. The family will receive friends during a reception at the church immediately after the service.
