Glenn Calvin Campbell II, 65, of Forest, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer. Glenn was the loving husband for over 30 years of Evelyn DeJarnette Campbell. Glenn was raised Presbyterian and later was baptized and became a member of Edge Baptist Church, Gladys, Va. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jean Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two children, Amanda Campbell Goff (Clayton), Forest, Va., Glenn Calvin Campbell III (Lisa), Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Jean Louise “Scout” Goff and Clayton Lee Goff III; three sisters, Sherrell Campbell Raybuck (Ken), Camden, W.Va., Debbie Campbell Davis, Fort Myers, Fla. and Robin Campbell Burch, Cape Coral, Fla. Glenn grew up in Stanton and graduated from Stuarts Draft High School. He attended Radford University and then went on to Lynchburg General School of Nursing where he obtained his RN degree. He retired from Lynchburg General Hospital in 2013, after 30 years of dedicated service. In 2008, Glenn received the Excellence in Nursing award from Lynchburg General Hospital. Glenn was an avid UVA fan, devoted NASCAR fan and member of Richmond Nation. Glenn loved music of all types and was a singer, song writer and guitarist. Glenn and his wife realized a lifelong dream by taking a trip to Scotland in April and retracing the steps of his ancestors. Glenn loved spending time with family and friends at the Outer Banks and in the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina. Family will be receiving guests on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at their home, 1142 Cobbs Creek Dr., Forest, VA, 24551 from 2 to 5 p.m. Honoring Glenn’s wishes, A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
