Diane Clare Lawson, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her home. She was the wife of the late David Benjamin Lawson for 58 years. Born March 18, 1941, in New Brunswick, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Jane Bell Harkins. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Farmville, VA. She was a Proverbs 31 woman who loved and cared for her family fiercely. Diane loved making quilts for her family and friends. Diane is survived by two sons, James John Lawson and his wife, Jennifer, of Washington, NJ, and Michael Andrew Lawson and his partner Jeffrey Slupski of Levittown, PA; two daughters, Susan Jean Palmer and her husband, Scott, of Lynchburg and Nancy Lynn Tripodi and her husband, Geoff, of Chesterfield Township, NJ; nine grandchildren, Amanda Dickey and her husband Jason, Melissa Feldman and her husband Brandon, Alec Tripodi and his fiancée, Alessandra, Allison Blanks and her husband, Matthew, Noelle Tripodi and her fiancé J.C., Craig Lawson, Bryce Tripodi, Eric Lawson and Natalie Tripodi; one great-grandchild, Lynette Feldman; one sister Mary Lu Wesp of Plainsboro, NJ. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Harkins and John Harkins. A Chapel Service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Fort Hill Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Ron Rumberg officiating. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Road Lynchburg, VA 24502, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105 or Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd.
