Terry Elwood Dalton, 64, of Evington, VA passed away at his home on Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was the husband of Tonya Ayn Dalton. Born September 20, 1958, in Lynchburg, VA, he was a son of Darlene Tilghman Dalton Harper the late Herbert Hoover Dalton. He graduated from Amherst County High School and was a forklift operator with Bohling Steel Inc. Terry was a simple man, he didn't need a lot to be happy. He loved his family and friends and would do anything to help someone out. He was of the Baptist faith and loved watching football on Sundays with his brother, Gary. He had annual summer trips to Holiday Lake with his family. Anyone who knew Terry will say he was the life of the party. In addition to his wife, Tonya, he is survived by one son, Dillon Jarrett Dalton and his wife, Addison, of Bedford, VA; one daughter, Scarlett Marie Lewis and her husband, P.J., of Evington, VA; two brothers, Douglas Dalton of Altavista, VA and Gary Harper of Evington, VA; one sister, Faye Kelley and her husband, Calvin, of Bedford, VA; one grandchild, Madisyn Skyy Eagle of Evington, VA; and step-father Robert Harper of Lynchburg, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd. Staten Island, NY 10306 A visitation will be held Thursday from 11:30 to 1:30pm at Diuguid Chapel (21914 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502) followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. William Clark officiating.
