Elizabeth Lovell Sparrow, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her home. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Lovell and her second husband, John Sparrow. Born April 22, 1934, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Owen and Dorothy Strange. She was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and retired from General Electric. She was a member of Living Word Baptist Church where she also enjoyed attending her women’s group. She was an avid newspaper reader and also loved working with flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Barley and her husband, Todd; four grandchildren, Krista Lipscomb (Bryan Boyd), Kalen Barley, Kiley Barley and Darrell Creasy; four great grandchildren, Bresden Boyd, Bryson Boyd, Karmen Barley and Kara Harris. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Pastor Matt Short officiating. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
