Frances Carter Martin

Frances Carter Martin, 67, of Huddelston, passed away Monday, May 20. 2024, at CENTRA Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Warren Randall Martin. Born July 5, 1956, in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Erskine Thomas Carter and Ruby Lois Johnson Carter. She was a devoted and loving housewife. Frances loved visiting her daughter at the beach and taking trips in her RV. She enjoyed all kinds of photography and sharing her pictures and memories through social media, with her many friends and family members. Frances adored her husband, children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them all. During her teenage years she was a faithful Red Cross volunteer at the Lynchburg Training School and Hospital. She was kind and giving to all that knew her, she will be dearly missed. In addition to her husband, Warren, she is survived by two sons, David Dalton of Madison Heights, Johnathan Martin (Emily) of Lynchburg; one stepson, Paul Martin (Juanita) of Williamsburg, VA; one daughter, Kimberly Wolfcale (Justin) of Virginia Beach, VA and one step-daughter, Amy Forbes (Wayne) of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Erskine “Thomas” Carter (Kathy) of Forest, VA; one sister, Carolyn C. Crews of Concord, VA; 3 grandchildren, Caleb Dalton, Cameryn Dalton, and Eli Martin; 5 step grandchildren Trescella Schaffer, Emma Forbes, Abigail Martin, Katarina Martin, Whitney Martin, and one step great grandchild, Jack Burns. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan C. Witt and Perscilla Elliott. The family will receive friends Friday, May 24, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel with Rev. Dr. Butch McCarthy officiating. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
