West Columbia—Ronald N. Peeples, 65 of West Columbia husband of Hughette Sox Peeples, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 14, 2017 with his wife and family by his side. He was born on February 28, 1952 in Columbia SC. to the Carl Ronald Peeples Sr. and Ida Bell Chavis Peeples. He had previously worked at Sox & Sons Construction Company before becoming ill. For the last two years he had faithfully taken care of his mother-in-law, his second mother Jacqueline Sox. He was a talented musician for many years and traveled around the world in the 60's and 70's playing music. He also loved bass fishing and fished and won many tournaments with longtime friend Troy Buffington. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a former member and deacon at Red Bank Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert and Christopher Peeples, a daughter-in-law Maggie Peeples; one grandson, Mason Sox Peeples; three sisters, Wanda Jackson, Bonnie and Robin Peeples; one brother, Carl Peeples Jr. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday September 17, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday September 18, 2017 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow in Lexington Memorial Cemetery.
