Jerry Donald Evans, 59, of Lexington, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 18, 2015. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Crawford and Sheppie Christmas Evans. Jerry found pleasure in helping and giving to others in need. He retired after 35 years of service from The State Paper. He was a huge Gamecock fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jerry enjoyed his time outdoors. His last words were "Tell all my family that I love them". He will be missed by so many. Jerry is survived by his children, Michael (Shanna Martin) Fulmer of Lexington, Elaine Evans of Lexington, Steven A. Davis of Lexington, Kevin Fulmer of Pelion, Jennifer Harris of Columbia and Margaret (Stephen) Adcock of Gaston. He is also survived by his brothers, Sammy (Annette) Evans of S. Congaree, Johnny Evans of Columbia, Larry (Wanda) Evans of Gaston, Terry Evans of Columbia and James Evans of Columbia; his sisters, Ginger (Pat) Forth of W. Columbia, Debra (Curt) Judson of Isle of Palms and Lisa (Allen) Broadus of Columbia. He also leaves behind his 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Evans Jr.; and daughter, Amy Fulmer; his brothers, Billy and Jimmy Evans; and his sisters, Elizabeth Evans and Elaine Mims. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. The family wishes everyone to dress casual.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years.
