Please join the family for a Celebration of Life Service The Crossing Church of the Nazarene 3501 West 104th Avenue Westminster, Colorado 80031 Tuesday, June 30, 2015 Visitation 10:00 a.m. Service 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow Jim was born to William Harold Binkley and Emma Smith (Garner) Binkley in Warwick Township. His father was an ordained minister in the Nazarene Church and as such the family moved with each pastorate, spending the longest time in York PA. Beatrice Fay Parsons and Jim met at summer Camp in 1949; Jim was 19. They dated for two years and married in the Church of the Nazarene, Brooklyn Park MD October 6, 1951 and remained married for 64 years before Jim’s passing. Jim enlisted in the Navy December, 1950 and was honorably discharged October, 1954. Jim served as Ship’s Personnel Officer aboard the USS Barioko during the Korean Conflict making only occasional visits home to be with Bea. Upon being discharged and a brief return to Baltimore, Jim and Bea moved to Kankakee IL and Jim enrolled at Olivet Nazarene University. They moved from Kankakee in July, 1958 to Denver CO at the suggestion of Jim’s brother. Jim enrolled at Denver University where he obtained his BS in Business in 1960. He worked as a Tax Accountant for a short time before becoming an Accountant with the Air Force working out of Lowry Air Force Base. Jim & Bea raised their family in Arvada, living in the same home from 1967. Jim retired March, 1987 and was retired 28 years before his passing. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed; woodworking (including building grandfather clocks), softball, boating, fishing and serving God through his stewardship of time and resources. Children born to Jim & Bea; Diana Lynn was born October 8, 1953 and died the same day, David James was born January 26, 1955, Lynn Nadine (married to Scott Nielsen) was born May 31, 1958 and Keith Allan (married to Jean Lawrence) was born September 2, 1963. Grandchildren; Benjamin David born October 28, 1984, Renae Lynn born March 2, 1988, Emily Rebecca born March 24, 1992, Daniel Allan born January 11, 1997 and Katherine Anne born April 14, 1999.
