Relda Gunderson
December 24th, 1925 - August 27th, 2017
Relda Vione Larson, 91, was born December 24, 1925, to L D and Mary Elizabeth (Bennett) Larson in Arlington, Kingsbury county, South Dakota. She died Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Lakewood, Colorado. Relda attended country school and then Arlington High School. After WWII, she married Lester G. Gunderson on June 16, 1946 at Arlington, South Dakota. The couple farmed in Kingsbury county, South Dakota until 1964, when they moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. By 1970 Lester was building golf courses and they moved from project to project. They lived in Colorado, New Mexico, Tennessee, Missouri, Louisiana, Arizona and returned to Rapid City, South Dakota. They retired to Green Valley and later Mesa and Chandler, Arizona, and lived there until 2002 when they moved to Lakewood, Colorado to be closer to family. Survivors include two sons and their families: Son, Jim (Diane) Gunderson of Gillette, Wyoming, grandson Scott Gunderson, granddaughter Jodi Gunderson and great grandson Bailey Gunderson, all of Gillette. Son, Lynn (Gayle) Gunderson of Lakewood, and two granddaughters (1) Lauren M (Ricardo) Martinez and great grandson, Mateo of Barcelona, Spain; and (2) Mary (Alex) Leyva of Lakewood, Colorado. Two nephews, Dale (Tammy) Larson; and Gary (Virginia) Larson also survive her. Relda was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, her parents, brother Ralph V. Larson and sister-in-law Florence Larson.
