Wilford "Bill" Wells GASTON: Service for Wilford "Bill" Wells, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Whippoorwill Dr., West Columbia, SC, officiated by Bishop Kyle McHugh. Entombment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Wells, Bobby Wells, Steven Wells, Benny Osment, Christopher Wells and Jeremy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be John Aragon, Lawrence Klein, Ashley Carter, Chris Lauthen. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, c/o Kyle McHugh, P.O. Box 310, Gaston, SC 29053, the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210, or to Tri-County Hospice, 166 Stoneridge Dr., Ste. 100, Columbia, SC 29210. Mr. Wells passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Born in Cromona, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Wayne Wells and Stella Mae Larkey Wells. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a 32nd degree Shriner. Mr. Wells was the owner/operator of Bill's Music Shop and Pickin Parlor. He was a recipient of the "Order of the Palmetto." Survivors are his loving wife, S. Louise Wells; daughter Mary Lou Powell (Eddie); sons, Michael "Mike" Wells (Linda), Wilford Wells, Jr. (Dinah) and Larry Wells (Laura); sisters, Doris White, Shirley Perry and Annie Causey; brother, Mayo Wells; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
