Frank Harold Smith SANTEE: Graveside service for Frank Harold Smith, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Dr. Donald F. West. Memorials may be made to the Shriners' Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to the charity of one's choice. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Smith died Monday, June 6, 2011. Born in Union, SC, he was a son of the late Frank Smith and Bessie Edwards Smith. He was the owner/operator of Frank Smith Auto Service in Columbia. Mr. Smith was a Shriner, Omar Temple, Charleston; he served in the National Guard, was a Sergeant of the Armed Forces, US Marine Surviving is his daughter, Cindy S. Bailey (Ronny) of Sandy Run; sons, Terry H. Smith (Marjie) of West Columbia and Barry S. Smith (Bernadette) of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Ruth S. Parks, Cornelia S. Lawter, Jo Ann Sweatt, Louise S. Price and Sara S. White all of Union, SC and Betty S. Groce of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Sam Bailey (Jennifer) of Sandy Run, Daniel Bailey of West Columbia, Rosemary Smith, Macy Smith, Kaycee Smith, all of St. Petersburg, FL, Leah Whetsel of Gaffney; four great grandchildren, Brayden Bailey, Haylen Whetsel, Kyleigh Whetsel, and Ashlynn Oakley.
