Ronald R. Hare WEST COLUMBIA:Graveside service for Ronald R. Hare, 64, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch. Honorary Pallbearers will be the City of Columbia Police Force. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Municipal Police Officers Fund, the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or to the American Diabetes Assn. of SC, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington will be assisting the family. Mr. Hare died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Charles Hare and Ruby Furtick Hare. He started with the City of Columbia in June of 1980 as a police officer and prior to that was also an officer with West Columbia Police Dept. Mr. Hare was also a volunteer fireman with the city of Columbia. Surviving are all the friends and family that loved him. The family would like to extend special appreciation to NHC Parklane, City of Columbia Police Officers and Calvary Baptist Church.
