Elmer E. "Butch" Holt, Jr. CAYCE--Funeral services for Elmer E. "Butch" Holt, Jr., 65, of Cayce will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Phillips. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Lung Assn., 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Mr. Holt, beloved husband of Vallerie Bodiford Holt, joined his heavenly Father surrounded by family on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of Myrtle S. Holt and the late Elmer Eldon Holt, Sr. He retired from Service Transport as a Terminal Manager after many years of devoted service. He was very active in donating funds to LICS, 216 Harmon Street, Lexington, SC 29072 and an avid Gamecock Fan. Surviving are his wife, Vallerie B. Holt of Cayce; daughter, Jenny Dixon (Jimmy) of West Columbia; mother, Myrtle S. Holt of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Michael Blaze Gardner of West Columbia and Miranda Butler of West Columbia; great-grandchild, Preston Lee Butler; sister, Elaine Holt of Spartanburg; brother, Lamar Holt of Spartanburg.
