CAYCE-Services for Theresa Howard, 80, of Cayce, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Monsignor Leigh A. Lehocky. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission, 110 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Mrs. Howard, widow of Thomas G. Howard, Sr., to whom she was married to for 48 years, died Monday, January 10, 2011. Born in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Roseanne Knolls Martel. Formerly of Lebanon, PA, she had been a long time local resident. She was a member of St. Peter?s Catholic Church and was retired from Oxford of Columbia. She enjoyed the Tri-City Leisure Center Senior exercising program, gardening, sewing, crafts, and quilting, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughters, Tina M. Cromer and her husband, Stephen of West Columbia, Tammy L. Howard of Browning, MT, and Toni C. Clark and her husband, Bill of West Columbia; son, Thomas G. Howard, Jr. of Gaston; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Martel and Rita Haines both of Lebanon, PA; and brothers, Bill Martel of Lebanon, PA. and George Martel of Cleveland, TN.
