Vicki-Lee Diane Price
January 24th, 1942 - December 27th, 2018
Vicki Lee Diane Price passed away peacefully at her home in Rowland, NC on December 27, 2018. She was born January 24, 1942 in Columbia, SC. In early childhood, she fell in love with books, trying to read every book in the public library and most books that were ever written. She considered gardening to be an art and produced beautiful roses, African Violets, and orchids. She relished in gardening and could grow practically anything including dirt. She took pride in being certified as a Master Gardener. She became a widow in her early married life. Being left with young children, she involved herself with their activities, whether sports, dance, singing and their social relationships. She attended their recitals, their sporting events and invited their friends to enliven her home with their laughter and their sometimes raucous camaraderie. She was the neighborhood mother to so many of her children's childhood friends. She loved each one unconditionally. Vicki's 30+ years of employment at Van de Grift’s Animal Clinic gave her the outlet to pursue her love of animals. She loved all the different animals and frequently took-in orphaned squirrels, opossums and other injured animals as her own pets to nurse them to health. She personally found homes for over 100 greyhounds and it could be said that she took care of more animals than Noah’s Ark. Vicki is survived by her husband of 30 years Edwin Price of Rowland, NC, her siblings Allen Middleton and Elaine Mills, her five children, Mark (Linda) Moore of Camden, SC, Melissa (Jack) Dille of Little Mountain, SC, Michael (Cari) Moore, Michelle (David) Birge and Beverly Samantha Blease all of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Vicki was predeceased by her mother Beverly Louise Gorka, her maternal father E. L. Middleton and her eternal father Theodore S. Gorka, husbands Levi Reginald Moore, Robert (Bob) Blease. Her life will be celebrated on December 31st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 4440 Fort Jackson Blvd in Columbia. Visitation will be held at 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. and will be followed with the Funeral Service from 10:30 - 11:30. Burial will be at Noon at Greenlawn Cemetery (845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC) . In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to a favored animal rescue mission, the Leukemia Society, Epworth Children's Home or your favorite charity.

We Entrusted Vicki-Lee Price's Care To
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
