Barnard Bee Turner, III

Barnard Bee Turner III (56) of Columbia passed in his home surrounded by family on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Bee was born October 5, 1962 in Columbia. He was predeceased by his father Barnard Bee Turner Jr., and his mother Theo Wise Turner. Bee is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Blakely) Turner, sons Christopher Jordon (Bonney), Matthew Elliott and daughter Ragan Elizabeth, and granddaughter Lily, his sisters Harriett T. Armstrong and Melba T. (Dave) Cannon. Bee graduated Winyah High School in Georgetown, SC, attended Francis Marion College and served in the National Guard. Bee was also known as “Captain Midnight” while he worked as a disc jockey in Georgetown, SC. Bee went on to work in the Automotive and Tire Sales business for 30+ years. Bee was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He was also a man of strong faith and a devoted servant to his church. The family wishes to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to their church family, family members and friends for all of their love and support during Bee’s illness. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn will be assisting the family with Bee’s service. It will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church. Visitation at the church social hall will be held 12:00 – 1:30 PM and service will begin at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary. Burial will follow at Richland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gadsden, SC. Memorials may be made to Trenholem Road United Methodist Church, or Richland Presbyterian Church Cemetery at P. O. Box 857, Eastover, SC 29044.
