Nell Nix Campbell

Nell Nix Campbell, born January 14, 1923, widow of Johnson Campbell, daughter of the late Homer and Maggie Nix, entered heaven on April 23, 2019. Surviving are 2 daughters, Sherry Katz (Jim) and Lynn Franklin (Clyde); 4 grandchildren, Todd Lamar (Rhonda), Paige Lamar Knapper (Chris), Chad Lamar and Brennan Shapiro Tweedy (Ben); six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild: Tyler Moorer, McKenzie Moorer, Garrett Lamar, Hailey Lamar, Brent Lamar, Jack Tweedy and Alice Nesbitt (Moorer) Nell was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church, and a member of the Lydia Sunday School class. Nell retired from Colonial Stores. She loved flowers and had a beautiful yard to prove it. There was a time when she volunteered at the zoo, planting flowers. A Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 11:00AM. The graveside service will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park at 12:00PM. Pastor Charles Byrd (Amedisys Hospice) will be officiating. The family would like to thank the Amedisys and Agape Hospice Care for the wonderful care they provided for mom during her illness. The caregivers became an extended family to ours.
