MATTHEWS, NC – Funeral services for Elaine Dykes Spigner, 97, will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Cayce First Baptist Church, with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1pm to 1:45pm at the church prior to the service. The service will be conducted by Dr. Ken Harmon, interim pastor for Cayce First Baptist and Rev. Sharon L. Long of Mill Creek United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Tommy Gunter, Leon Gunter, Ray Gunter, Tyler Robbins, Christopher Robbins (all nephews) and Marty Chaney (cousin). Elaine was born October 29, 1921 in Pelion, SC and passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. She was a daughter of the late George D. Wise and Lennie Luella Wise. Elaine was a longtime resident of Cayce and a member of Cayce First Baptist Church. She loved her Lord Jesus and spending time with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John W. Spigner and first husband, Lagree H. Dykes; her sisters, Eula Lee Shumpert, Elsie M. Gunter and brother, Leonard D. Wise. Surviving are her children, Margaret D. Spires (Nash) of Oneonta, AL, Cecil L. Dykes (Beverly) of West Columbia, SC, Judy D. Adamski (Joseph, deceased) of Mint, NC; her grandchildren, Susie Davis (Shawn), Andy Spires, Stacey Fields (Jacob); her sister, Vermelle Taylor of Matthews, NC and sister-in-law, Louise Wise of Cayce, SC, numerous great grands, nieces and nephews and her beloved pets, Charlie and Bella. She was a wonderful mom, granny, great-granny, sister, wife and friend. She will be missed by all. Memorials may be made to Cayce First Baptist Church, 600 Holland Ave., Cayce, SC 29033.
