William "Bill" Robert Medlin, Jr.

William “Bill” Robert Medlin, Jr., 54, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021. Born on May 17, 1966 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Dorothy Medlin Hollar and the late William Robert Medlin, Sr. Bill was a charismatic, unforgettable man with an infectious smile and contagious energy. He was an avid Elvis fan and impersonator, a dirt track race car driver, a coach and a mentor. He was known by many names including Pop Daddy, Big Skinny, Mr. Bill, Mr. Excitement, Chicken Wing King and of course, Elvis. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, tubing, sport shooting, creative projects and spending time on the lake and at the beach. Bill loved life and lived every day like an adventure, never met a stranger and was happiest when surrounded by his friends, extended family and family pets. Above all else, Bill was a proud and devoted husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Stephenson and his son in law, Joshua Davis. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Charmy Hill Medlin; children, Robbie Medlin (Alyshua), Braden Reese (Kelley), and Haley Medlin Davis; stepson, Michael Harrington (Rachel); grandchildren, Liam Medlin, Zoey Rodriguez, and Romeo Rodriguez; mother, Dorothy Medlin Hollar (Robert); sisters, Lindy Fisher (John), Angela Case (Tommy), BeeJay Robinson (Scott); brother in law, Michael Stephenson; as well as many, many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd. Columbia, SC 29209. Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Taylor Street Baptist Church in Cayce, SC.
