Elvira "Mitzi" Petrich
March 31st, 1935 - March 25th, 2021
Elvira “Mitzi” Petrich, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Born on March 31, 1935 in Raitbach, Germany, she was the daughter of the late George Roether and Frieda Graf Roether. Mitzi was an employee for Richland County School District 1 for 30 years before retiring. She was a dedicated member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Mitzi enjoyed spending her time gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She lived her life to the fullest, but her greatest joy was caring for her daughter, Susie. In the end, Mitzi was blessed to have Susie care for her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. All who knew her loved her. The Heavens were blessed with a most precious gift, the greatest woman we have ever known. We are forever blessed by her grace, love and understanding. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Mitzi was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob “Pete” Petrich. Left to cherish her memory are her children, John Petrich (Ann), Susie Petrich, Wanda Avila (Henry), and Brigitta Langston (Eddie); as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 4:30pm in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Rd. Columbia, SC 29209.

We Entrusted Elvira "Mitzi" Petrich's Care To
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
