Linda Walker, 68, of Hopkins, SC, passed away May 2, 2020 at Providence Hospital, Columbia, SC. She was born on November 6, 1951 in San Antonio, TX to Howard and Ruth Padgett. Linda served in the United States Army. After her military service, she later retired from the United States Postal Services with 35 years of federal services to her country. Linda is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Walker of Hopkins, SC; her son, Nathan Allen Walker of SC; two grandsons, Nathaniel Walker and Darius Walker, both of Columbia, SC; a brother, Ronald Padgett of Simpsonville, SC; sisters, Hilda Belger of TX, Cora Freemon of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley Massey of AL, Debbie Cole of North Charleston, SC, and Sylvia Black of TX; mother-in-law, Theresa Walker of Summerville, SC; sisters-in-law, Elenora Fashion (David) of Moncks Corner, SC, Gertue Cobin of Yorktown, VA, Elaine Hamilton (Donald) of Codesville, SC, Bernice Rivers (Daniel) of Columbia, SC, and Judy Smith of Summerville, SC; a brother-in-law, BenJamin Walker (Cathy) of Summerville, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Howard Padgett. A Graveside Service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, with full military honors, on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 11:00am.
