Richard Lee Wiggins, 76, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away January 23, 2024 at Prisma Richland Heart. He was born on May 10, 1947 in Bellaire, Ohio, to William and Catherine Wiggins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Wiggins and sister-in-law, Beth Wiggins. Richard is survived by his brothers, Bill Wiggins, Buck (Karol) Wiggins and many relatives and friends. Richard was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, who loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the heart of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, forgive and love, will be forever ingrained in all he knew. The family wants to extend a special thank you to Herb and Linda Matthews for all their love and devotion over the years. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on January 28, 2024 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., following with a funeral service and burial at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Mt Elon Baptist Church, 718 S-40-935, Hopkins, SC 29061.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
