Brent D. Burnett
June 20th, 1954 - March 5th, 2016
Brent D. Burnett Sr., 61, of Moncks Corner, husband of Donna Hammond Burnett entered into eternal life, Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born on June 20, 1954 to the late James and Betty Burnett. Brent was a graduate of Airport High School Class of 1972. He was also Yeoman 1st Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of State Street Baptist Church. Brent was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was devoted to helping and mentoring young people. His greatest passions in life were his family, friends, fishing and Gamecock Football. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brent D. Burnett, Jr.; daughter, Lindsey Tyree; step mother, Jeanine Burnett; brother, Bruce Burnett Jr. (Melanie), Johnny Burnett (Diana), Brandon Burnett; sister, Brigitte Dull (Scott); aunt, Barbara Yandle and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. After the service the family will receive friends at the home of Denise and Lynn Dawkins, 109 Stockman Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 A special thanks to the Dawkins family for the love and support throughout the years.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years.
