Grace E. Gaul
September 13th, 1915 - January 9th, 2018
Grace E. Gaul, 102, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away January 9, 2018 at Pruitt Health in Blythewood, SC. She was born on September 13, 1915 in Betterton, MD to Benjaman and Sallie Smith Harman. Mrs. Gaul was a very sweet, polite, very loving, hardworking, always happy and a joy to be with. She met her husband, Lester Gaul, at Jacobs Aircraft during WW11 while serving her country as a Rosie Riveter. Grace is survived by her nephew, Robert S. Tesch and his son, Brian Tesch; nephew, Tyler Tesch; and nieces, Amber Tesch, Catherine Turner, Valerie Murray (Jed) and Ellen Luke (Cody). In addition to her husband, Lester Gaul, Mrs. Gaul was preceded by death by her 2 sisters, Mary Tesch and Marie Harman; and a brother, Smith Harman. The family will receive friends for a celebration of life at Middleborough Condominiums Community Room at 1825 St. Julian Place, Columbia, SC on Friday, January 26th at noon.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years.
