Sue Elizabeth Shealy
June 23rd, 1926 - December 17th, 2015
Sue Elizabeth Shealy, age 89, died December 17, 2015. Daughter of Walter J. and Lola Mae Mims Shealy, she was born June 23, 1926 in West Columbia, S.C. She graduated from Brooklyn-Cayce High School and began working at age 16. Miss Shealy retired from her job as payroll supervisor at Richland Memorial Hospital in 1986, after 40 years. A lifetime member of First Baptist Church, West Columbia, Miss Shealy lived a life of service to others. She is survived by her step-sisters Geneva Ayers and Pamela Freedman of Columbia, nephew James Shealy (Nancy) of Newberry, nieces Janet Shealy Anderson (Daniel) of Simpsonville, and Sandy Neese Leach of Columbia, and also by a great nephew and 4 great nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces. The family would like to thank Jenni-Lynn Assisted Living, NHC Lexington, and Caris Hospice for their care. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20th, at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel located at 200 State Street. Visitation is from 1:30 - 2:00, prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia.
