Charles "Slick" Jeffery
February 1st, 1934 - December 9th, 2015
Charles "Slick" Jeffery, 81, of Lexington passed away December 9, 2015. He was born to the late Grady and Ruby Jeffery. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two sisters, granddaughter, and a nephew. He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1961. He was terminal manager for Moss Trucking in the Columbia and Charleston area for 20 years and with W.T. Mayfield for 15 years. He was a member of Platt Springs Methodist Church. Charles is survived by his spouse of 61 years, Sybil Jeffery; sons, Tommy Jeffery (Vanessa) of Waynesville, NC, Steve Jeffery (Cathy) of Givhans, SC, Grady Jeffery (Sally) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, James Jeffery (Grace) of Charleston, SC; daughter, Lori White (Timothy) of Goose Creek, SC; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Platt Springs United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2 p.m. until the service following at 3 p.m. Interment will be at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Rd. West Columbia. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
