Mementos

On Sunday, November 22, 2015, Fred England went home to his Creator after a four year battle against cancer. He left this world a better place than it was before he got here. After serving his country in the US Navy half a century ago, he spent the next fifty years in service to God as an evangelist, husband and father. To Velma England, he was the strong provider and protector. To his son David England, David's wife Tina and his daughters, Julie and Anne and their husbands, Jason Webber and Adam Stiebing, he was the career counselor, roll model and bastion of strength. He served God as preacher at multiple churches over the years. He was a member of the Gaston Community Crime Watch for the past 20 years. His passion for doing good and right was known to all. He is survived not only by his wife, three children and their spouses; but also by his sister, Nancy Sitze, and four grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local hospice of your choice. Psalm 116: 15 "Precious in the sight of Jehovah is the death of his saints." (ASV)

Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
