Martin "Marty" Eugene Jackson
March 25th, 1967 - September 22nd, 2015
Martin Eugene Jackson, 48, of West Columbia, SC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. He was born in Orangeburg, SC on March 25, 1967. Martin is the son of Deanne Jackson Castle (George) and son of Jack "Jackie" R. Jackson, Sr. of Sandy Run, SC. In addition to his parents, Martin is survived by two brothers, Ray Jackson (Anna) and Brennan Shay Jackson both of Sandy Run, SC. Marty has two surviving children, Amanda Jackson of Cayce and Tyler Jackson of Charleston. Martin has two grandchildren, Matthew Litchfield (9) and Hayleigh Campbell (5); and a niece, Layla (7) and nephews Brennan (9) and Bentley Jackson (2). Martin also leaves behind his girlfriend of several years, Deborah Ezzelle. Martin was predeceased by a son, Travis Jackson of Moncks Corner, who passed away on March 28, 2015 from a car accident. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held following the service in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Steve Allen and Pastor Kevin Roberts will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 2062 S. Beltline Blvd, Columbia, SC 29204 or Northside Baptist Church, 4347 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC 29072. Many thanks for the care given to Martin at Palmetto Richland Trauma Center, Hospice Care nurses and to the doctors who tried to save our son.
