Larry F. Bailey
January 4th, 1933 - July 31st, 2015
Funeral Services for Larry F. Bailey, 82, of West Columbia will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at Thompson's Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 2 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Larry was born January 4, 1933 in Anderson S.C. He was the son of the late Thomas L. and Jessie M. Bailey. Larry grew up in Greenwood S.C. and eventually married high school sweetheart, Elizabeth (Lib) Kennedy and moved to West Columbia where they raised their family. Those who knew Larry well knew that he was highly patriotic, loved gospel music, enjoyed singing, and never met a stranger. Larry loved his grandkids and spent countless hours watching his grandsons play baseball. Larry was a faithful and devoted husband to his late wife, Lib, for over sixty years. Larry cared for Lib during her final and difficult months before she went home to be with the Lord late last year. But more important, anyone who knew Larry could see clearly that he was a believer in Jesus and a child of God. A provider, mentor, friend, Larry was a true servant leader and a great example to the men in his family. A part of Larry will always live on in the lives of his family and others that crossed his path in life. Larry passed away Friday, July 31, 2015. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Stugart (Steve) of West Columbia; son, David F. Bailey (Deb) of Cleveland TN; brother, Mahlon (Nancy) of Spartanburg SC; grandchildren, Amanda Henderson, Matthew Stugart, Melinda Arce, and Michael Stugart; along with many nieces and nephews. Larry was also predeceased by three brothers; Howard, Joe, and Bob Bailey. The family would like to offer special thanks to Angela, Leslie, and Kymberly from Home Instead Senior Care, as well as Darcy and Genesis with Amedisys Hospice for their support and compassion during the last week of Larry's life. The Bailey family recommends that donations be made in lieu of flowers. Donations can be made to Trinity Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2003 Charleston Highway, Cayce S.C. 29033.

We Entrusted Larry Bailey's Care To
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
