James William Marshall, 85 James William Marshall passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his home in Aurora, Colorado. James was born January 3, 1928 in St. Joseph, Missouri. James served as a member in both the United States Navy (1945 – 1946) and United States Air Force (1947 – 1970). During his distinguished career, he served in multiple countries such as Germany, Spain, and Great Britain, serving tours during World War II and the Korean War. While serving in Great Britain he met a beautiful young lady, Joan Burrows, and in 1951 they married and began their family. After returning to the United States, James and his family continued to serve with the Air Force, residing in Pennsylvania, California, and Texas. In 1968 he relocated to Aurora, Colorado where he retired from active duty in 1970. James continued his career with the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1990. In his retirement, James enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was also an active member in TREA, Chapter 39. James is survived by his three daughters: Linda (Mike) Sutton of Hillsdale, Michigan; Tina (Larry) Hussion of Evergreen, Colorado; and Jane (Frank) Gonzalez of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Chris) Risley, Tyson (Hazel) Hussion, Traver (Mandy) Sutton, James Sutton, Elizabeth (Brant) Monroe, Vincent Gonzalez, Matthew Gonzalez and his twelve great-grandchildren; Jake, Emma, Rachel, Lizzie, Bekah, Abe, Joe, and Ben Sutton; Mandy and Marissa Hussion; Enzio and Franceska Gonzalez. James was preceded in death by his wife Joan (1998). Memorial services will be held Friday, May 3, 2013, 10:00 am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado. A celebration of James’s life will be held afterwards at his home, the home of Jane and Frank Gonzalez in Aurora, Colorado.
