Janet Albers, 84 of Columbia passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Friday November 14, 2014 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Friday from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia, SC. She was born in Columbia, SC, on August 26, 1930, to the late Burnell Sloan and Arlene Fellers Sloan. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Charlie" John Albers and sister, Betty Sloan Keels. She is survived by her son, Burnell Sloan Thomas and his wife, Lisa Watkins Thomas and their son, Zachary Sloan Thomas; three sisters, Lois Mae Sloan, Carolyn Sloan Criss and Mary Sloan Cooper; She is also survived by Charlie's four children, Charles John Albers, Richard Allen Albers, Margaret Albers Stein, and James Albert Albers and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews all of whom loved "Aunt Janet" dearly.
