Irmo - Rose Marie Woods, 78, of Irmo, entered into rest Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist. Born May 27, 1936 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late, Robert Emmett and Mary (Mullani) Torbett. A member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church, Ms. Woods was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa M. Woods and Lyndal Haddox; son, Robert A. Woods, Jr. (Ramona); granddaughter, Courtney Ackland (Tully); and a sister, Marilyn M. Torbett. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Noon on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to, Palmetto Health Hospice; her physician, Dr. Ruben Mayer; and Sara, Mary and Regina all of NHC Parklane, for the loving care and compassion they provided to Ms. Woods.
