Services for Anna Virginia Westbrook McLeod, 55, of Monticello Lake, Winnsboro, formerly of Lexington and West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Saluda River Baptist Church, Highway 378. The Reverend Richard Hodges of Salem Presbyterian Church in Blair, SC officiating. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens Chapel, due to inclement weather. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. immediately before the service at the church. Mrs. McLeod, wife of Donald "Cotton" McLeod, passed away unexpectedly Monday night, August 4, 2014. Born in Conway, South Carolina, Mrs. McLeod was the daughter of the late Thadeous Herbert Westbrook, Jr. and the late Margaret Virginia "Nink" Wynn Westbrook. A lifelong area resident of Lexington County, she was a former member of Brookland United Methodist Church, Platt Springs United Methodist Church, Saluda River Baptist Church and currently was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Blair, SC. She graduated from Midlands Technical College with a degree in Paralegal Studies and from Lexington High School where she served as a majorette for the Lexington Wildcats. She was Miss Mid-Carolina 1976 and a graduate of Millie Lewis Modeling School where she was named a Rising Star. Mrs. McLeod was an avid golfer at the Lexington Country club in the late 1970's. Both of her parents were extremely involved in Lexington School Districts One and Two. Mrs. McLeod worked for Midlands Technical College from 1987 to 1992 and various law firms in the midlands area including Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough for 15 years. Anna loved her son, Ryan, was a loving grandmother and devoted wife, and will be sorely missed by her husband, son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren, brothers and sister and all family members and friends. Surviving is her husband, Donald "Cotton" McLeod, son Forrest Ryan McLeod (Crystal), grandchildren, Tyler D. Stokes, MaKenna N. McLeod and Forrest Ryan McLeod, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Gaye Westbrook Luyster (Mark); brothers, Reverend Doctor Charles Norris Westbrook (Jane Derrick), Neal Randall Westbrook; sister-in-law, Linda Lawhon Westbrook (widow of the late Honorable Marc Herbert Westbrook); nieces, Jennifer Gaye Westbrook Jackson (Sidney), Dorothy Melissa Coggins Kneece (Bradford); nephews, David Charles Westbrook (Selinda), Thadeous Herbert Westbrook, III (Christy), Richard Neal Westbrook (Ansley); great-nieces, Elizabeth Jane Chiles, Abigail "Abby" Caroline Westbrook, Audrey Elizabeth Kneece, Mary Kathleen "Katie" Westbrook, Caroline Elizabeth Westbrook and Wilhemina "Mina" Renee Westbrook; great-nephews, Jackson Eugene Kneece, John Marc "Jack" Westbrook, Marc Connor Westbrook, Thadeous Matthew Westbrook, Jackson Westbrook and Walter Hale "Trooper" Chiles, IV ; and great-great-nephew, Sebastian Eli Hall Chiles. Mrs. McLeod was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, James Timothy in infancy, and The Honorable Marc Herbert Westbrook. Anna's passions were collecting antiques, family ancestry and animals. Pallbearers include Thad Westbrook, Richard Westbrook, Brad Kneece, Sid Jackson and Frank Miles.
