James "Bill" William Whittington

COLUMBIA-Graveside service for James William "Bill" Whittington, 63, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cullen's Archangel Rescue, P.O. Box 90060, Columbia, SC 29290. Bill passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014. Born May 19, 1950 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late James William Whittington, Sr. and Mary Frances Broome Whittington. Bill was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church and the Pacific #325 Masonic Lodge. Bill retired from Westinghouse after 42 years of service. Surviving are his loving wife of 41years, Kathryn Lee Whittington of the home; son, Jason Whittington and wife, Kelly of Cayce; as well as a number of other family members; and his loving family dog, Sly. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 is assisting the family.
