GASTON-Funeral service for Carol Ruth Krantz Kirkman, 61, of Gaston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Crossroads Church, 2606 Emanuel Church Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. Burial will follow in Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2250 Pine Street in West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073 is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800. Mrs. Kirkman passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. Born December 18, 1952 in Columbia (Fort Jackson) SC, she was a daughter of the late John Alvin Krantz, Sr. and Mary Ruth Brigman Krantz Bashore. She attended Midlands Technical College. Carol worked for the Court Administration of South Carolina before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Surviving are her loving husband of 29 years, Joseph "Mark" Kirkman of Gaston; her children, Andrea Catherine Sox Fuller (Reginald) of Lexington, and Joseph Michael "Mikey" Kirkman of Gaston; two grandchildren, Bradley Charles Fuller and Everleigh Rose Fuller; and brothers, John "Johnny" Alvin Krantz, Jr. (Debbie) and James Rodney Krantz (Tammy) all of West Columbia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Michael Vinson, maternal grandparents, Jesse and Lois Brigman; and paternal grandparents, Palmer and Mattie Ruth Krantz.
