Linda F. Staggs, 59, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on March 21, 2014, after a courageous battle with a hereditary kidney disease. Linda was born on, April 23, 1954, in Clinton, Indiana. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1972 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Mary Hardin - Baylor in 1981. She was a native of Rockville, Indiana, but had moved to West Columbia, South Carolina, to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. Linda proudly served her country in the U.S. Army for six years. She worked as a branch manager for the PSI Federal Credit Union in Terre Haute, Indiana, for many years and as an accountant for the State of Louisiana until 2009, when she retired. She enjoyed reading books, playing card games, word games, bowling and spending time with her family. She was an active member of Radius Church of Lexington, SC. Linda is survived by three daughters, Tiffanie Parker (Alan) and Thomasena Collins (Bill) of West Columbia, SC, and Roxie Marshall of Dana, IN; seven grandchildren, Sydnee Peebles of Rockville, IN, PFC James E. Peebles and Isabelle Marshall of Dana, Indiana, and Maci Whitesell, Brandon Ussery, Randall Chiado, and Dallas Collins of West Columbia, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Josiah Straw and Joshua Straw of Rockville, IN, and Mackenna Peebles of Clinton, IN. Linda is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Trusler (Mike) of Terre Haute, IN, and Nancy Burrill (Roger) of Avon, IN; five nieces, Melissa Froderman (Doug) and Wendy Cress of Terre Haute, IN, Tracey Grassick (Keith) of Clay City, IN, Stacey Churley of Lafayette, IN, and Nikki Whinrey (Matt) of Avon, IN; two great-nieces, Alyssa Reyher of Lafayette, IN, and Jamie Grassick of Clay City, IN; and one great-nephew, Kyle Grassick (Micajah) of Clay City, IN. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Nina and Olem Staggs; as well as her sister, Lois Whitlock. Services in Linda's honor will be held in West Columbia, South Carolina, and in Terre Haute, Indiana. Linda's West Columbia services will begin with the family greeting friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Funeral services with U.S. Army honors will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. at Radius Church, 300 W. Main Street, Lexington, SC, 29072. Linda's Terre Haute services will begin with the family meeting friends on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton Street, Terre Haute, IN 47805. Funeral Services will be held in Linda's honor on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, followed by a graveside burial service at Riverside Cemetery, 339 W. Jefferson St., Spencer, IN 47460. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation. https://www.pkdcure.org/donate
