Devon Michael Hendrix

Devon Michael Hendrix, 17, of Columbia entered into rest Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA after a long illness. Born Friday, May 10, 1996 in Fort Bragg, NC, he was the son of Christopher Lamont Hendrix and Jennifer Lynn (Rolfe) Hendrix. Set to graduate from Spring Valley High School this Spring, Devon enjoyed sports, especially soccer, and spending time with his friends. He also enjoyed quality time outside with his skateboard or at the skate park. In addition to his parents, Devon is survived by three sisters, Jasmine Hendrix and Eden and Shiloh Hendrix; maternal grandmother, Debra Frost; paternal grandparents, Sara Hendrix and Lloyd D. Hendrix, Jr.; great grandparents, Barbara and Ross Rolfe, and Elnora Hill; as well as numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Shandon Baptist Church, 5250 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC 29206 with Reverend Barry Gray officiating. Interment will be private and held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
