Elizabeth Jordan Hicks
September 29th, 1920 - November 10th, 2013
WEST COLUMBIA—Graveside service for Elizabeth Jordan Hicks, 93, of West Columbia, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, SC 29033. Mrs. Hicks, lovingly known to family as "Shug", was born in Marietta, GA on September 29, 1920 and went home to be with her Lord on November 10, 2013. She was a daughter of S. E. "Pete" and Janie Chandler Jordan. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Goodwin of Lugoff, SC, Jane Braithwaite (Bobby) of West Columbia, SC and son, James W. Hicks (Joyce) of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Becky Brown (Tracey) of Lugoff, SC, Hamilton Kinard (Britnee) of Claxton, GA, Lynn Williams (Troy) of Lexington, SC, Bill Braithwaite (Stephanie) of Gilbert, SC, Cliff Braithwaite of Columbia, SC, Adrienne Garanich (Bill) of Hattiesburg, MS, Jordan Hicks of Hattiesburg, MS and 9 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, John Wilson Hicks, two brothers and a sister. The family would very much like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers of the Still Hopes Lowry Neighborhood and to her special, loving friend, Mary Anne Chaplin.
