William Dale Maples
February 15th, 1964 - June 11th, 2013
WEST COLUMBIA—William Dale Maples, 49, of West Columbia, passed away on June 11, 2013. Born February 15, 1964 in Columbia, he was the son of Patricia Strickland and the late Rev. David T. Maples. Lifelong resident of West Columbia, a graduate of B-C High School and was self-employed. Survived by brother, Michael Timothy Maples (Cindy) of Swansea; nephews, David Maples, Christian Shumpert, Jason Shumpert of West Columbia; niece, Kristen Maples of South Congaree. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Warren Maples and Step-Dad, Leonard R. Strickland. Services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Southland Mausoleum Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Stephen Williamson of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gethsemane Baptist Church, 334 Andrew Corley Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
