Dennis Martinez July 12, 1936 – January 23, 2019 Dennis Martinez, age 82, passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on January 23, 2019. He was born on July 12, 1936, in Truchas, New Mexico to Juan Domingo and Perfila Trujillo Martinez. Dennis is survived by his wife, Frances of 58 years, a daughter, Nancy Giovanni, son-in-law Mark Giovanni and granddaughter Josie, a brother, Ernesto and two sisters, Benita Sandoval and Mary Bermudez. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean, his parents, his brother, Juan, and sister, Sally. Dennis served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1958. He married Frances Wallace on July 2, 1960, in Truchas. They lived in Colorado Springs while Dennis worked at the U.S. Air Force Academy in vehicle maintenance. He then continued his career in Manitou Springs and Woodland Park Colorado, and Los Alamos, New Mexico. Dennis will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 4, 2019, at Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in Truchas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Namaste Alzheimer’s Center, 2 Penrose Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80806.
