WEST COLUMBIA: Funeral service for James Eddie Wages, Sr., 87, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Springdale Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Springdale Baptist Church Building Fund, 357 Watling Rd., West Columbia, SC 29170. Mr. Wages passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Arthur Walter Wages and Oneita Kelly Wages. He attended Columbia High School; and served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Wages was a retired Greyhound Bus Driver. Survivors include: his wife of over 64 years, Alice Raines Wages of West Columbia; son, James Eddie Wages, Jr.; grandchildren, Mandi Wages, Chris Wages, Claudia and Andrew; great grandchildren, Davis Roberts and Morgan Roberts. Mr. Wages was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruby W. Porter and brother, E. Rudolph Wages; also a daughter-in-law, Shirley M. Wages.
