John McCoy
December 25th, 1949 - July 15th, 2019
John k. McCoy left his earthy home on July 15, 2019. He was born on December 25, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ethel Mae & Earl B. McCoy. John lived in Wichita Falls until he left to serve his country. He volunteered to serve in the Army. When he finished his basic training, his first tour of duty was Vietnam. John was a very brave and dedicated soldier and was awarded several accommodations and medals including the Bronze Star. When he finished his service in the Army, he returned to Texas and attended technical school and began working in the HVAC field. His career spanned over 40 years and took him from Wichita Falls to Corpus Christi, to San Antonio and then to Georgia where he owned his own company. Upon retiring, he and his wife started a new adventure moving to the coast of Texas and then to Colorado, God’s Country. John loved the Rocky Mountains, hiking on and off trails and taking along his furry girls, Lucille & Maggie and working and riding horses. He loved to take road trips and getting off the beaten path because that was the maverick in him. John lived his life to the fullest and loved his big family and friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew him. John was predeceased by his mother and father, sisters, Jean and Anne, brothers James, Richard and Mark. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Treva of Colorado, sons, Bradley and Shane of Georgia, and Matthew of Oklahoma, two grandchildren Tyler of Georgia and Katelyn of Oklahoma, brothers, Robert, David and wife, Shelli, Paul and wife, Theresa, Patrick and wife, Penny and Michael and wife Michelle, all of Texas, sisters Marie of Texas and Madonna and husband, Joel of Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be August 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or gofundme.com/ucancervive-inc.
