R. "Sonny" Thomas
August 26th, 1928 - March 24th, 2013
CAYCE: Funeral service for R.F. "Sonny" Thomas, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Pastor Tim Hodge. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Thomas, Mike Howard, Brandon Riley, Jerry Davis, Lorenzo Ward and Kirk Botkin. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Thomas passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late William Franklin Thomas and Maggie Maddox Thomas. He was a U.S. Army Veteran; a member of Cayce Masonic Lodge and the Jamil Temple. Mr. Thomas was the owner of R.F. Thomas Painting Company. Survivors include: his loving wife, Betty K. Thomas of Cayce; daughters, Jackie Linemann (Larry) and Diane Jeffcoat (Billy) all of Lexington; son, Bubba Thomas (Suzie) of West Columbia; sisters, Evelyn Ruff of West Columbia and Billie Bedenbaugh (Bud) of Irmo; brother, Bobby Thomas (June) of Fairfax; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ethel Kunkel and brother, Leroy Thomas.
