CAYCE: Funeral services for Barbara J. Lavenia, 65, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Interment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Lavenia passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012. Born in Turbeville, SC, she was a daughter of Bertha Coker and the late Rudolph Edward Coker. She received an associate's degree in arts. Surviving is her mother, Bertha Coker of Sumter; her loving husband of 49 years, Jerome Lavenia of Cayce; sons, Paul E. Lavenia of West Columbia, Christopher J. Lavenia (Lauren) of Lexington, Anthony F. Lavenia of Cayce and Joseph M. Lavenia of West Columbia; sisters, Darlene Clemmons (Jackie) and Terri Collins of Sumter; brothers, Edward Coker, Curtis Coker and Danny Ray Coker all of Sumter; grandchildren, Jerry Lavenia, Brandon Lavenia and Dalton Lavenia all of West Columbia. Mrs. Lavenia was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Lavenia.
